What more can I say about these photos? They are beautiful. I love fall, it is my favorite season!
This is a spider web with dew on it. ( I cannot believe I just had the due vs dew conversation mentally in my head. I think it is time to rest!)
And finally some interesting bugs that I saw. They were so colorful how could I not take their picture?
The hike was wonderful...with exception to being eaten alive by mosquitos. Even after spraying myself down with bugs spray. Oh well...it was worth it. We have had rain all day and the leaves are falling quickly. I am very glad I got those shots. =)

Last Lake Adventure of Summer
So Tuesday I was off from work. ( I get paid for the holiday because I am considered a state employee..so I had to take another day off to offset that because I don't usually work Mondays.) And because I was off I wanted to take a short walk/hike because there was something I needed to retrieve near the lake for an art project.
Well my normal path to the lake is grown up..so I had to take an alternate path...
And so I walked through a corn field. (Now I do not recommend this for anyone who is not familiar with it. One it is pretty easy to get turned around in the field and not realize it. And two, where there is corn fields..there are usually snakes. Haha)
After getting through the cornfield I walked a ways and stopped to snap this picture.
Then I stopped to gather what I needed..and took this picture.
And yes...that is a tattoo on the top of my foot you are seeing there. My other foot has one too, but it is more obscured because I stirred up the silt on the bottom.
Finally I was headed home..because Carter would be getting back off the bus on his first day. I nearly tripped upon this:
Interesting the things you can find if you are paying attention. I find 4 leafed clovers all the time. I don't even bother picking them anymore.
** I was going to post this the night I had my migraine. I hope to be back to mail posts tomorrow. After all I have a few things to show you from a recent trip to a thrift store. =) **

Bedford Reservation
I am not sure about you but I am getting a lil tired of reading about stamps. Now..don't get me wrong, I love stamps. I enjoy seeing the new ones that are being published next year, but sometimes it is nice to kick back and write about something else.
So I thought I would tell you about a short hiking trip Brad and I took last week. We went to a place called the Bedford Reservation, which is part of the Cleveland Metroparks AND the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We had never been before and they have a waterfall..so we figured why not?
Starting off we hiking a short path called the Hemlock Loop. It basically follows the flood plain of the creek that runs through the reservation.
These two trees were the object of much picture taking. And while we were there...it was a nice stretch to skip some rocks. We even had a competition going to see who could skip one across the creek and have it bounce back at least once.
Then we found that little guy hiding in a shallow pool. I haven't seen one in years!
And we will finish up with these tree roots holding on to some rocks. Such a neat site indeed!
Oh and incase you were wondering...the falls were barely trickling and definitely not worthy of pictures. =|
Hope everyone had a good weekend! I also hope that anyone in the way of Hurricane Irene is doing well!!

Mail Call Friday
It's friday again!! You know what that means....it's MAIL CALL time again! Woohoo!!
But before I get into the mail I wanted to share some photos from the hike I took yesterday. This first one is of my nephew Carter.

And this second one is the deer backbone he found in the field..(we then had to bring it home haha).

So as you can see...he totally had a blast... Now on to some mail!!

As you can see it was a pretty good mail week. Though I had two days with NOTHING in the box! That needs to be corrected...which means I need to get better about responding to my mail when it comes in instead of doing it and sending it all at once. haha
Oh and I am in the midst of creating a really neat way to keep track of my mail...I will share it when it is finished and all the bugs are worked out. For now I will tell you that it is a lil technical and it is (of course) on the computer but it is not in Excel. Got your mind going?? Guess you will just have to wait until it is unveiled!

Interesting Thought on Mail
Thank you to everyone who wished me a better day today! I am happy to report that my day is going quite well (except for my lack of stamps...but I am hoping to fix that tomorrow). Oh and I also found some goodies in my mailbox today!! So yes, today is going well.
So today I did a bit more hiking but this time I took my nephew. We found some really neat animal tracks including deer, raccoon, and I suspect...coyote! We found an owl pellet (which he thought was really neat...he's only 5) but the BIGGEST find was a deer backbone! He was being such a great archaeologist, though he was wrong about what he thought it was. He suspected it was dinosaur..haha.
After the hike I decided to read through my RSS feeds and found an interesting mail themed article. You can find the full text here. It is basically a reprint from Old McFinniganagal's Gazette published in 1849. Its from the opinion section and it is written by someone who wishes people would stop sending him mail.
It is really fun to read because how he feels about "real" mail is sometimes how I feel about tweeting and email! Haha. Its amazing to think that someone wouldnt want to see mail in their box! Anyway, I really enjoyed reading it and I hope you do as well.
I also hope that everyone out there is having a great day! I am off to write some letters and send some mail! =)

Nice Weather Means HIKING!
SO...the weather this weekend was beautiful!! We didn't get the rain here that we were supposed to get so..I went out hiking. And of course because you are all so nice to follow and read along...I thought I would share a few photos with you. =)
This first waterfall is called Brandywine Falls:

Of course I had to take a picture of this sign as I thought it was truly hilarious!

Then there was this tree on the one trail...it has grown around some rocks. This one will make a nice hole for some animal to take shelter from the spring rains.

Along the same path we had this nice little spot where we could walk right down to the waters edge. It was super beautiful.

Then walking down there I found this fossil, which I ended up carrying the rest of the way back to the car to bring home. (I have a think for fossils)

Then we moved to another path and found Blue Hen Falls:

The wall of the falls are all made up of shale...

And finally how about that SUPER moon last night??

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this. I hope everyone had a great weekend and gets lots of awesome mail this week!!
