Covered in Stamps

See what happens when I am bored and surrounded by stamps? I was getting hand cramps because I had written so many letters in the past week..so I decided to take a break and work on this lovely box. I am not sure what I will do with it. But I knew it had to be letter writing/stamp related. =)

More stamp projects (even a tutorial) coming soon after the holiday!

  2. That is indeed a cigar box! Its amazing what you can do with them. And they are the perfect size to hold pens/paper/scissors/misc. office supplies. =)

  4. Very nice! I like the composition. The colors are perfect. The recipient is so fortunate. I am crazy about my map-covered cigar box. Still can't find the awesome cigar bands elle gave me. :( I put them "some place safe" so naturally I cannot lay hands on them. :( But they'll show up when I'm not so busy preening. How can one not feel like showing off once in a special moon?

You've inspired me. Am going to this little liquor store that sells cigars, next time I go to Hobby Lobby. Will ask if they save their boxes. I'd like to embellish one. Misty, you inspire.

    Nice job, girl!

  5. Thank you everyone! I had a lot of fun making this one. I am still unsure of what I will do with it. But for now it is just nice to look at. =) It was also nice to see all the different stamps. I didn't realize I had accumulated so many!

Pamela- I am glad that part made you laugh. I swear it was true. I sat down and saw the box sitting there...then looked behind it on the shelf and saw the envelope with stamps in it. Seemed like a good evening project.

Limner- That is such an awesome idea! How come I haven't ever thought of that before? I will have to stop into the local "smoke shop" and see if I can get some more boxes. They really do come in handy for holding supplies...or treasures!

  6. Put stamps in it! I have a pile of various stamps from 1 cent to 98 cents. They are just laying around on my desk. I am inspired to use my old stamps to make a box too! Though I don't have nearly as many. This is awesome.

  7. You know, I actually didn't have many stamps until I started really looking for them. I found some at a thrift store, and others penpals sent me. You would not believe how many you will get if you just throw it out there that you would like used ones for crafting. A lot of people do not save their envelopes. (For the record..I save all my envelopes and never remove the stamps. )
