Ask Me Anything

If you have been following since the beginning, or have read all the posts you might recall a post where I invited the readers to ask me one question. Well, my (lame) Christmas present to each of you is the ability to ask me one question (on roughly any subject) and get an honest answer. I am open to any questions. Though I try to keep this blog family friendly so please make sure your question is too. =)

Now...ask away!

  1. That's an easy one. I was born Sunday August 25, 1985 at appox. 2:30 am. :)

  2. What can you use to attach acetate die cuts to envelopes or journal pages? The only thing that seems to work for me is a glue dot runner. Any other ideas? Thank you!!

  3. Where is your favorite place to write a letter?

  4. What is the single most awesome thing that ever showed up in your mailbox? Second question: How might one top that? LOL Oh, and 3rd question: What's your favorite hot drink? Cocoa? Tea? If Tea, what kind and how do you take it?

I guess the first question should have been: is there a limit to the number of questions we can ask? ;)

  5. She did say ONE question. Didn't say one from everyone.. Hence one response??

  6. LOL! Derrick, you're trippin me out. Now I'm ROFL!

My question: Misty, what do you want for Christmas, other than a new MacBook?

  7. What a great gift, Misty.

  8. Derrick- Oh- she DID say "one". I should learn to read posts more carefully. :) Oh, well. Misty, you pick one from the list. LOL

  9. Vagirl- I assume that a glue stick wouldn't hold because it isn't sticky enough. Honestly I would probably use the glue dots (they are amazingly strong) or perhaps a skinny double sided tape runner. This was quite the question, but it seems you have the best solution figured out. =)

Marian- My favorite place to write a letter is probably in bed. How horrible is that?? I have two desks and I still prefer to write in bed with a lap desk. It's all about comfort. Then again I reall enjoy writing outside too. So in the summers some letters are written while sitting in the sunshine.

Jenny- I actually meant one question per person, but that's ok. I don't mind answering more than one. The most awesome thing to show up in my mailbox was probably the rubber duck Kelly P. sent me. I say that because it was the first "naked" object to find its way to me..and opened up my eyes to the world of naked mail. Now I send at least one naked mailing a month.

Someone can top that by sending naked mail my way. I always enjoy seeing someone try to push the envelope (haha pun). I am actually going to run a contest of sorts after the first of the year. I will be asking people to participate in sending a piece of naked mail. It could either be something listed in the link above or something they see and want to mail. So keep your eyes open for that next year. =)

My favorite hot drink..well that depends on my mood. When writing letters usually I drink tea, though I do turn into a cocoa monster about this time of year. Just ask Brad...I will drink almost a canister of cocoa throughout the winter. I prefer mine without marshmellows. As for tea I like black sweet tea during the day (a southern thing) and at night I drink all types. I will be doing a post all about tea (hopefully) before the new year. I will wait to talk about teas until then.

Derrick- Feel free to ask something!

Limner- Honestly, I am not sure. I got a full time job which will allow me to buy a new laptop sooner. I would say stationery or stamps would be good gifts. They are something that would be very practical. OR how about dreaming of a vacation in a warm place? Haha

  10. You appear to be a Mac/Apple Geek. :) (I'm going to Macworld next month) What's your favorite piece of software or wanted App?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I am a mac girl and highly jealous of your going to Macworld! It is tough to choose a favorite software. I would say that I like iPhoto a lot and would love aperture if my laptop wasn't old and slow. I will keep you posted when I get a new macbook. I am not even going to use iPhoto anymore. I will be trying to use aperture exclusively. My most used software is actually the circulation client at work Millennium. That or Google Chrome. Haha.

Strangely enough I don't really care for the iPhone I much rather use an Android based phone. Probably more information than anyone cares to have but I felt like throwing that out there.

  13. Have used both and I still prefer my iPhone but then again "jailbroken" as well as my iPad. I live in Sacramento so MacWorld is a yearly thing for me - 1.5 hours away so no biggie. This year work is even paying for admission and a days pay :). I have used Aperture and Lightroom both do things well and neither all things great. If you can swing but one I lean towards Lightroom. The integration with Photoshop is a biggie for me and the cataloging as well. I can also shoot tethered with LR.

I'll send ya some promo crap from the show (pens, badges..) I always walk away with a TON of stuff.

  14. What do you think of schools not teaching cursive writing any longer?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'd be relieved if that is true. Being dsylexic learning cursive was beyond a nightmare. I struggled just to write the letters the right way, let alone dealing with the fancyness of cursive or denealon (spelt?). I think it should evolve in time when your older as I can attest that I wasn't the only learning challenged child in class, I was just the only one who knew what my challenges were.

Having said that,... my question is this:

what singular gift do you think you have to give back to the world that is innately your own and one that electrifies joy inside you as you do?

  16. Derrick- You are awesome! And I am glad that your work place is paying you a bit to go! That would be awesome..if only I could get the library to send me...Haha

Susan- I am actually upset with school systems that do not wish to teach cursive anymore. Here in Ohio it is up to the school districts themselves as to whether they will teach cursive. I find it amazing to think that in years to come..people who can read cursive will be sought after to translate documents from my generation. It just all seems bizarre. I may not write in cursive a whole lot (mainly because I find it quicker to print) but I still know how to write in script. As far as I know my school district still teaches cursive, though it is no required by Ohio law.

Anon- What a question!! I would say that I have a gift of making people laugh. And that brings me an insane amount of joy. Working in the library gives me quite a bit of time to try and make people laugh or smile..and I have been told I am quite good at it.

Thanks to everyone for playing along! This has been quite fun. =)

  18. Derrick- thank you for the wonderful article. I think I shall share it with everyone here on the blog after Christmas sometime. I have also been thinking of sending out some mail interviews on handwriting and penmanship. Adding that to the list of things I want to try and accomplish this next year. :)
